Windows 7: Unable to proceed OS installation on new hard disk

Try the solution given in the MS KB bulletin on the error, or Clean Install with the installer with SP1 to see if it is solved. This error is because of newer HD's needing SP1 in the installer/recovery anyway.

This is the official WIn7 installer with SP1 download from MS provider. It is all you need for install and repairs.

Just follow the steps to get a perfect clean reinstall which show how to burn it to DVD or write to 4gb flash stick and boot. Clean Reinstall Windows 7 Factory OEM

Finally have the ISO downloaded and currently copying it on to an USB stick( I don't have a DVD writer in my other laptop ). Now, should i have to wipe the Win7 installation from the Recovery Disks that i had already tried doing before i attempt to use this ISO?

Also, how do i get all the drivers installed in my laptop previously?

When you boot into your USB drive you'll be given the chance to wipe your hard drive and create a new partition just the same as if you were booting into a Windows DVD to carry out a clean install - Greg gave you the link in his post.

Any drivers you need can be downloaded from your computer manufacturer's support site.

I was able to successfully copy the ISO to an USB - but it gave me this error message - "Files copied successfully however we were unable to run BOOTSECT to make the USB device bootable"

Any thoughts?

I gave you the answer to your drivers question in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.
Did you even read it?

If the Download Tool does not create the flash stick correctly, then write it to stick with Universal USB Installer with Win7 in the dropdown menu. Format first, then Write.

Make sure you are changing the boot disk PRIORITY to boot from the flash drive 1st. Not the boot disk SEQUENCE, These are 2 totally different options. Make your internal hard drive 1st in the boot disk SEQUENCE. When the pc reboots for the 1st time you have to change the boot disk PRIORITY back to have your internal hard drive boot 1st again. If you don`t it will just keep booting from the flash drive.

The machine i am using for downloads is WinXP and this could have been the reason. It even asked for some API V2 to install before proceeding
