If you're confident of the ISO and burn for now then work through the rest of the steps to see if anything changes. Ask back if you have any questions and someone will help you.

OK.. last night as I was going to give up all hope: I turned my computer on and the CPU was running really loudly.. more loudly than usual.. and it worked!!!! I logged on and everything. OK so then I wanted to fix the loud CPU and in doing so the computer stopped working and now it just goes to the blinking - in the top left corner. (

What exactly did you try to fix the loud CPU?

Check or change all of your cables and connections. Examine the mobo and CPU carefully as you power up to see if the fans are running and where the noise is coming from.

When you power up is the BIOS posting first or just the blinking cursor? What else if anything do you see on the screen?

Did you test the HD and RAM yet from the steps I gave you? Swap RAM sticks to check no debris is in slot.

Do you have a video card or other PCI card in slot? Try uninstalling and then reinstall it, checking connections carefully.

OK I switched the ram a few times.. it was botting up past POST and I could get into bios then the blinking cursor. I think I may have had the ram not seated all the way down :/ I put it back in and now its working so lets keep fingers crossed. Fan isnt loud either

ONe last thing Im getting an 80 floppy drive error and I have to press F2 to continue. I have no floppy. How can i fix this?

Post back the verbatim error message and when it occurs exactly.

F2 is BIOS setup, so enter BIOS setup and see if Floppy appears somehow in BIOS Boot Order or where the drives are registered - IDE or SATA Storage listings most likely. If so disable any floppy listings.

Check on HP site that you have the latest BIOS version update.

There are many steps which have piled up that have not been replied to so I would next go back through the thread and catch up, report back results on each step so we know what all you've done.

If you have an installed floppy drive then I would physically unplug or uninstall it as it can present other future problems if not.

Has the installation completed successfully? If so you can mark thread Solved at top.
