Look for one of these somewhere:

Quote:
The following characters are invalid as file or folder names on Windows using NTFS:
/ ? < > \ : * | and any character you can type with the Ctrl key
Illegal Characters on Various Operating Systems | Group Logic

The most common error is getting your / and \ mixed up.

I'm assuming it's actually "c:\users\myname\" . Is that right?

Can you get a screenshot or two of the installation error, preferably showing the folder location it's offering as the default? There are fixes for some similar problems but they all seem to involve messing around in the registry. I'd like to be sure it's not something simpler before recommending you try that.

Try downloading the file again. The second screen looks like it can't unpack itself, possibly due to a corrupt download.

You might also try right-clicking the file and installing it as an Administrator if you haven't already done that.

Folder with invalid character does not open.
Hi all, I have encountered an issue where a folder will not open under Windows 7. Selecting the folder does nothing, and right-selecting the folder does not bring up any context menu. I happen to know that there is media content inside the folder. Closer inspection of the folder name gave...

Invalid path in environment variables. Safe to delete?
Hi. Is it safe to delete the entry shown? I don't see a folder anywhere on C: (windows partition) named BVTBin even with super-hidden files shown. I'm asking because I don't understand why the entry exists.

Slow deletes (character by character)
This probably has nothing to do with Windows 7, but I thought someone on this forum would know. When in a text editor like on this forum or on Microsoft word and when I delete and hold it down it will be really slow. Characters would only delete every half a second no matter what. Anyone...
