Quick answer please? - Getting SP1 the quick way - or bad idea?

    Hi guys,

Having built my new puter Im now re-building my old one to become my wifes puter. Ive just started the W7 clean install process on it and came to a realisation:

The old RETAIL W7 64bit HP disk from which I installed the OS a few years ago does not have SP1 on the disk.

For my new puter I just bought another RETAIL W7 64bit HP but due to only buying it a few weeks ago it comes with SP1 bundled. Can I do the following:

Use my new retail w7 dvd with SP1 to do the clean install, but when it comes to putting in the windows authentification code, I still use the old code on the DVD case from my old w7 (which is obviously registerted on-line to the motherboard in that puter anyhow).

Will this save me time in not having to d/l Sp1 etc or am i about to casue a nightmare?

    Thanks!

You can safely & legally use any disk to install, just enter your paid for activation key.
