Windows 7: Using RT 7 Lite

Ok, i made a custom windows 7 32 setup ISO.

I integrated SP1 into it, along with all security updates.

To first start working with the iso, you need to extract it to a folder...

What I need to know is if these original files are updated also as i integrate the updates into it.

Did RT 7 update the original files/setup or did it just store all the integration as temporary files inside the program itself, and deletes it as soon as you build the ISO...

So simply put, the original files loaded into RT 7; are they the same as the finished iso files, or do they remain as they were before tweaking...

Also wondering:

If i want to go back and edit the finished ISO the next day, and integrate something else into it, such as a theme tweak or something, All the previous days work will be in it still, right? I won't be needing to re-integrate anything?

It's a long process for all this, and I wish my pc was faster... I don't wanna redo anything

Why slipstream ISO when the latest ISO w/SP1 is available online? You can't Repair Install with slipstream.

The only reason to edit Win7 is for size. There is absolutely no performance gain to be had by editing Services as they are already trimmed to the bone, with anything not needed at Startup set on Manual fast triggers. However you will have unintended consequences if you try to trim Services, as those of us who experimented with Vliting it during beta learned.

How are you activating Win7?

Ok, i admit, I'm doing it more for the learning...

I do know that you can get the SP1 online, but I just wanted to learn how to customize a setup.

It's a lot more interesting, and even easier when you fresh re-install a computer, and don't have to go into windows update for hours, updating everything.

So I integrated most important updates,so i wouldn't waste time on that and will leave to me to finish with the act code and the pc name and the more detailish stuff...

Then I'd start with a Win7 installer w/SP1 so you don't lose ability to Repair Install.

Everything you need is here to get a perfect install, same for retail: Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

Hello, A quick question of opinion. Is UPS Manufacturer Tripp-lite worth $20 over a comparible APC? Thanks, the APC which is normally around the same price is on sale for $20 off until Saturday. Wouldn't mind saving $20. Thanks for any opinion, experience or knowledge. glennc
