RTM change over to retail in october

I use the RTM and I was told by my it that the keys won't be ready till Mid October so when the Retail comes out how do you upgrade without doing a fresh install?

    Silly

Just type your key into your current install. Clean install is much prefered by microsoft and us.

There is no difference between 7600.16385 and the upcoming retail version ...

"Retail" is printed to a disc and put in a box, then it's placed on a shelf and sold in a store.

If you purchase the upgrade discs, they'll need to see an activated/genuine prior Windows installation to go in in the first place. Otherwise there's no difference on the software level.
