Help with deleting partitions during windows 7 install

I have a Asus Eee Pc 1005ha that i want to install windows 7 on. I'm running xp with a single hdd (149.05gb total) that has 4 partitions set up like this. C: 72.06gb NFTS (system), D: 72.05gb NFTS, PE: 4.89gb FAT32 (unknown partition), No Volume: 47mb unknown type (EFI system partition) this partition displays diagonal lines in disk management. I want to remove these so I only have one C: drive (149gb) where win 7 will be installed. How would I go about removing these during the install procedure? Should i just delete the no volume, PE and D: drive? Or should I delete all 4 partitions? Little confused on this rather ask before I do something wrong. From what I read the 47mb partition is the asus boot booster which speeds up boot time which I don't think I need with win 7. Can someone enlighten me on the correct procedure?

    Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

Assuming you are using a Windows 7 DVD to carry out a clean install, I'd be inclined to delete all four partitions and create a new one for Windows.

You'll be able to do this during the installation procedure.

Windows will offer to create a 100 Mb System Reserved partition to hold the boot files, and then create a new partition for Windows.

This tutorial explains the correct procedure for a clean install.

You can Delete the PE and the EFI partition ... but if D contains any important data, you may keep it intact. Otherwise, , you can delete all the partitions !

While partitioning again , dont make more than four partitions as primary !

Thanks seavixen32 and arc exactly what i wanted to know!
Yes I will be using my usb dvd drive to install windows 7 and will follow the clean install procedure per the link provided. Will delete all 4 partitions during installation so I have my whole drive as one partition.
When using my usb dvd drive should I also change the boot order in the bios to reflect the dvd drive as primary or does it matter? When I reformatted my desktop I never changed boot priority just clicked boot from cdrom when turning it on.
Thanks again I have lots of reading to do...... great forum btw!!

Restart your computer with the USB drive connected. When rebooting, press and hold the Boot Menu ( I hope it is F12 , for your HP) key, it will show the list of all the possible drives to boot from. Select USB using the scroll arrow keys, and hit enter; the installation will be started.

The one-time BIOS Boot menu key to trigger DVD boot on most Asus computers and mobos is F8. If it's different it should say so on the first screen.

If it offered you to "Press Any Key to Boot Disk" before then it is likely already set in BIOS to boot CD first.

If you have no choice to deselect EFI in BIOS then you may need to follow some special steps to install given here: UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) - Install Windows 7 with - Windows 7 Forums

Probably because it says HP under OS in the lonely Specs listing? No biggie.

Thanks for all the input. Yeah its Asus Eee Pc and I was going to use Home Premium(HP) but now will use Ultimate instead.
Searching around I found these steps to enable the boot menu on my 1005HA
    Turn off your netbook.
Turn it on, and keep pressing F2 repeatedly unless the BIOS screen appears.
In the Boot section, disable Boot Booster.
Plug your bootable USB key or DVD drive in a USB port.
Press F10, then Enter to confirm. The netbook will reboot.
Keep pressing ESC repeatedly until a boot menu appears.
The menu displays a list of bootable devices. Choose your USB key or DVD drive and press Enter.
Just waiting for my installation disk to arrive then I'm ready to proceed. Asus even gives a walk-through for my model with all the necessary drivers to update before and after windows 7 is installed. I hope it goes smooth!!
