Confusion

I guess Toshiba comes with a back up on hard drive but I seen have two recovery patrons. One is from Toshiba one from recovery CDs when last I recovered. So if reinstall must I do oem clean install or should I just recover to ordinal do I delete old recovers? I don't want break it. Laptop windows 7 is there anyway recover windows files with out deleting anything ? Or can you create new Partion install clean windows on there transfer files then delete current Partion then resize new. So you have two windows at same time. Is bad not format I mean can I install Linux change mind or is installing on HD a serious issue.such as don't over do it. I'm texting from phone sorry I'd errors this odd.I want learn more about windows and Linux want make sure its not going mess up computer to toy with operating systems maybe make a bunch for fun

Check to see if there is an option on your computer to Make the Install DVDs for your system. I'm no expert on Toshiba system but there was something I read that you must use the Toshiba supplied OS because of some proprietary drives/software that Toshiba notebooks need. I may be wrong in that but it is always best to use original media for a re-install.

As to deleting your recovery partitions. I suspect one if for the OS and the other for included software. I personally would not delete any of them at this time.
Once you do the re-install, and if possible make the DVDs for your system, there is a possibility to delete those partitions and then add them to the main partition
But if you do that you will not have the option of using the built in BIOS recovery system if you ever need it.

Does doing this effect your network? Will it go back to all original software or do I need back up CDs? Seems strait forward just don't want break it by selecting option. I remember old windows you could just install windows over not effect anything like programs such.

To find out how much better your Toshiba can run without the factory bloatware, turn off everything in msconfig>Startup and msconfig>Services after Hiding All MS Services. You only need your AV and gadgets/stikynotes to start if you use them. Use free lightweight Microsoft Security Essentials.

As you get to know your laptop better you can decide what to uninstall following these safe steps to Clean Up Factory Bloatware - Windows 7 Forums

If you decide you'd like to get the cleanest possible install of Win7 then follow these steps to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 choosing to delete all partitions during install since Recovery will no longer run anyway - make your Recovery Disks now.

Toshiba has a habit of preinstalling 64 bit with 4gb RAM which can drag a bit, something that is intolerable with the first OS which never drags or hangs with adequate hardware. The solution if this is the case is to get the cleanest possible install, run 32 bit on 4gb RAM or Upgrade your RAM.

A better Recovery method is to save a Win7 backup image of your customized Win7 install which can reimage the HD or its replacement in 20 minutes. Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup

What services are you concerned with? You can access Black Viper's Win7 configuration list to see how they are set by default. But I would not turn any off or otherwise muck with services.msc at all since Win7 has all services not needed at startup set to Manual on fast triggers anyway.

You only want to concern yourself with msconfig>Services to shut off 3rd party intruders not needed which are starting with Windows, after Hiding all MS Services. See my post above on exactly how to do this or Clean Up Factory Bloatware - Windows 7 Forums

You can install either 32- or 64- bit Win7 with each license, but not both at the same time.
