Windows 7 dell dimension e520 issues

Well ill start this off by saying hello great forum I'm here a lot browsing and found your android app so screw it time to register.

Now my issue here it goes,
Dell dimension e520 intel pentium d cpu 5gb ram 1gb asus gfx card.

When I got this tower it was dismantled and pretty rough I've brought her back to life slowly. Now when I first booted they had xp but it wouldn't boot at all. So I had a friends external with 7 ultimate 64bit on it. It ran ok few issues with my wireless card ect efc. Now when I booted bcd issues tried to repair no luck tried reinstalling and its stating cd\dvd drivers not found I disabled drive in bios and still no luck I don't see how the install could be damaged as it sits partitioned on my 1tb usb ran inside a cabinet so its tucked away safe. Any ideas?

Don't really understand your question, if there is one.

No Windows OS can run from an external drive. Windows does not allow that, at least not for the full OS (other then a PE version).

What you seem to be asking is how do I run a pirated copy of someone elses copy of Windows 7 from an external USB drive.

If that is the case SORRY we don't do pirated software on this forum.

I suggest you buy a copy of Win 7, whichever flavor floats your boat, and install it on an internal drive in your system.

Then if you have any problems come back and ask questions.

Good Luck and best wishes

What fails? The install? Does it give you any errors?

Look at the tutorials on this site for proper install of 7.

Format fails because the drive that came with the system may be bad. That is why XP wouldn't boot and why the system was in pieces when you got it.

It sounds like a bad installer. Are you trying to install from your friend's external HD or did you download and burn a DVD?

What I would do is download the latest official installer ISO for your licensed version then use the Windows 7 USB-DVD Download Tool to burn to DVD or Write to flash stick. If this fails burn to DVD using ImgBurn at 4x speed, or write to flash stick using UltraISO trial version: UltraISO Software To Create Bootable USB Flash Drive. Boot stick under USB, Removable or HD's to Clean Install Windows 7.

If this fail then wipe the HD first with Diskpart Clean Command from booted installer using DISKPART At PC Startup.

Reset your BIOS to defaults, set SATA controller to AHCI to try install, unplug all other Peripherals and HD's.
