    Windows 7 OEM New Hard-drive

I have built a new pc, it is roughly 2 weeks old.

    Intel core i5 2500k
    MSI GTX 560ti HAWK
    Corsair Vengeance 8Gb DDR3
    Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 Motherboard

    Fairly basic stuff...

    My question is:

Will it be possible to deactivate my windows 7 oem 64bit copy on my Caviar Blue WD 500gb hard drive? I have been having a few problems with the caviar blue and I have bought a WD caviar black 1 TB Hard drive which is currently on its way.

Will it be possible to move the OEM copy onto the Caviar Black?

I will probably use the Caviar Blue as storage for my documents and files instead.

Im afraid that the Caviar Blue has hardware problems. Should I be worried?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Just point me in the right direction and ask me what I should do based upon your knowledge and experience.

Yes, you can change any combination of components except the mobo and continue to reinstall, reimage and/or reactivate Win7 as often as you wish.

Easiest method to move the Blue to Black is use WD's free premium Acronis cloning/imaging suite. It's manual is here on the Download page and easy to understand: WD Acronis free cloning app

I would try direct cloning first with both HD's (nothing else) plugged in.

Once you clone or image over and the Black starts up on its own with Blue unplugged, you can plug back in the Blue, move it's data off to wipe it with Diskpart Clean Command then create new data storage partition(s) in Disk Mgmt: Partition or Volume - Create New
