Query when installing a HP C4380 printer

    Hi.

I have issue when installing a HP C4380 printer on my wireless lan.

I would be glad to know if the following is correct.

The radio LED on the front is lighting, and that should indicate, the the radio in the computer is ON.

I have the idea, that IF the radio -wireless network- on the printer works ok, the printer should be visible in the router.
Without having the printer drivers installed.

Is that a correct assumption ?.

Normally, but sometimes they won't connect or stay connected so a wire to the router helps.

Have you tried wireless setup on the printer yet, to see if you can force it to see the router using IP address or another method it provides?

You may need to reset the router.

There is not the option to connect a network cable to the printer.
But an USB connection can be established.

Yes, the printer has been working ok until yesterday.

I have reset the router, but still I cannot see the printer in the list on the router.

BTW I can see the MAC addres for the printer, if this can be a help for me ?
It is on a page, that I have printed out to show me the network settings for
    the printer.

On the printer readout there should be a Menu which includes Network setup Wizard for you to run. Try that. If it isn't listed read the Manual to find out how that model sets up both automatically and manually.

You can also google the HP Wireless Printer Wizard which works quite well to set up a wireless printer.

    Hi again.

Can you please help me with the HP Wireless Printer Wizard?.

I cannot find one, that will run even not on Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit, nor W7U64bit.

When you run the HP software from the disk provided or downloaded from the Printer's SUpport Downloads webpage, it should walk you through setting up the wireless printer.

If you don't need the Fax and Scanner software you can also install the printer at Control Panel>Devices and Printers, click on Add a Printer, then Wireless choice. It will scan and find the printer and ask you to identify it's model to install the driver. If it doesn't have it's model listed you should click Windows Updates so it can connect to the web and download the driver. Be patient until it populates in the list and then choose it and it should auto-install the printer.

If this fails then download the install the Wireless Printer Setup Wizard from here: HP Install Network Printer Wizard - Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center

And it does, I was just interested in getting the wizard.

The link you show me, is the one I downloaded the wizard from.
And as I have told, it will NOT run on mu W7U. Nor on 32, nor on 64bit.

    I need the scanner.
