First off thanx for all you help i finally got it loading windows 7 on the partition i did the clean all in disk part then made a new volume and gave it a drive letter and it was good. But now a new problem when it shuts down after first reboot it does the same process as in the beginning (Loading Windows Files) and starts new install again. Is this because I have the usb as first boot ?. I read somewhere to remove the usb when its shutting down so it boots from HDD is this correct.

That disk has not been wiped as it still contains OEM and logical data partitions. Why can you not follow the instructions in Diskpart Clean Command exactly? There is nothing there about giving a partiton a letter.

Why do you have both your BIOS and HD passworded? I've never heard of something so ridiculous. Remove the passwords immediately.

Did you use the ISO and write it to stick with the tool provided in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7?

Ok i did the clean all and tried it with unallocated space it wouldnt install on the drive. So i made a partition and drive letter on the drive and it did install but gave me another error i now have a headache from this and have returned the netbook but thanx for all the help. FYI i never gave the bios and HDD a password it was like that when he gave it to me.

Ask your friend to report back or google the exact error text and number to continue troubleshooting, as we do not give up here and we always get it installed in countless thousands of cases.

I am having the same issue as Radz, my eMachines em250 is doing the exact same thing.

Replaced with a functional and tested HDD and did all of your steps Greg with geeksquad and every other place I've tried. I registered here for a last ditch try before I throw this mistake away. Thanks for your time.

Unplug all other HD's and peripherals,

Boot into BIOS setup, reset to defaults, save changes. If an EFI BIOS, enable Legacy BIOS or Compatibility Support Module, set DVD drive first to boot, HD second. Then set SATA controller to AHCI. Save changes and Exit.

Then boot into installer DVD or flash stick burned or written using tool and latest ISO for your licensed OS version here.

At first installer screen Press Shift + F10 to open a Command Box, type:

DISKPART
LIST DISK
SELECT DISK 0 (after confirming Windows 7 target HD #)
CLEAN
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY SIZE=102400 (for 100gb partition, adjust as desired)
FORMAT FS=NTFS LABEL="WINDOWS 7"
ACTIVE
EXIT
EXIT

Next click Install Now, then Custom install to Clean Install Windows 7 to the partition you created. If it fails then report back at which step and the verbatim error message.

In addition read over these steps to understand the tools and methods which work best to get and maintain a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. The steps are the same for retail.

After install you can adjust partition size or Create new partitions for data, etc. in Disk Mgmt. You are creating the partition here for the purpose of marking it Active which overcomes certain install failures.
