I gather you have a computer with no OS installed, neither XP or W7, and that both installers quit or die without telling you anything useful.

The only things I can think of are:

    - make sure your install media is OK (checksums, CDs not scratched, etc). Don't use Memorex blank DVDs... Probably not the issue because you have two OSs not installing.

    - check your hard-drive and partitions with the bootable-CD version of minitool partition wizard:
"www. partitionwizard. com / free-partition-manager.html" (remove the spaces I inserted to prevent the forum software from chanfing the URL to an advertisement).

Of course you'll need some computer to make the CD...sigh. It's easy to make, tho.
Run the disk-error-check or whatever they call it...

Edit: "I tryed runing setup in safe mode" - you're installing by booting from the CDs aren't you?
Edit: also run a memory/RAM check. IIRC, the W7 install has this.

You should follow the instructions properly ... Clean Install Windows 7

And for more detailed diagnostics, you need to fill up your system specs.

Try booting the Win7 DVD and not running it from XP. How to Boot your Computer from a Bootable CD or DVD

Test your RAM - Test with Memtest86+ for 5-6 passes, remove all but 2gb RAM to try install.

Then test HD using maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan, followed by wiping disk with same CD using Quick Wipe method.
