where are the log files from running Windows Defender Offline?
Quick note to say thanks to those involved in this thread and in particular Karl for your suggestions for MSE and CCleaner. I am installing the updates for MSE right now.
Thanks again guys....this is a great website.
Go to Scheduled Tasks in CCleaner
DISABLE ALL
REBOOT!
WIN | type MSCONFIG | ENTER | STARTUP tab
uncheck ALL
except for:
REBOOT!MSC "c:\Program Files\Microsoft Security Client\msseces.exe" -hide -runkey
Your install list will take me a little longer, but here's an advance:
UNINSTALL
µTorrent
REBOOT!
REMOVAL OF P2P PROGRAMS
There are signs of one or more P2P (Peer to Peer) File Sharing Programs on your computer.
As long as you are using any form of P2P networking to download files, you can anticipate malware infestations.
References citing the risk of using P2P programs:

I strongly recommend that you uninstall:
µTorrent
Vuze
After you system is running as it should, then certainly reinstall, reenable anything you desire, but while we're trying to get you going, then follow the advice.
Thanks,
karl
