Are you trying to Dual Boot? Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP

It might be better to try virtualizing XP from Win7 using free XP Mode which comes in Professional, VMWare, Virtual Box or Virtual Player.

If you need to reinstall Win7 due to XP overwriting it use Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

Antoine,
Welcome to SF. You also may want to know that MS no longer supports XP. So what you'll find is what ever version your XP disk is, once loaded and you establish a internet connection when it goes to get updates you won't be able to find any updates. I found recently this very situation and my AV and Malwarebytes won't even load to such an old version. You mileage may very?
