That sucks. I don't have any advice - I'm just not familiar with the AMD environment. Good luck. I'm only saying that those with a Dell Lattitude E6500, it works extremely well, additionally, Dell's support section for that model has all the Windows 7 32 and 64 bit drivers. I'd say there's no problem with support.

    Windows 7 Ultimate x64

I just installed Win 7 32-bit Ultimate on my work laptop tonight (Dell E6400 with 4GB RAM). Everything worked right out of the box, except video quality was poor (downloaded the Nvidia Quadro 160M from Nvidia) and had to install the Synaptics touchpad driver to get my mouse moving anywhere near fast enough. Everything else worked right after the install.

I had to do this as a dual boot, so I did the "install Win7" as an expanding VHD file and thus far the performance is fantastic. Totally outperforms Vista on this machine...and runs on par with the Ubuntu 9.04 install that is also on this laptop.

I replaced it with a Athlon II X2 245 and that CPU will go on another machine that will run only the 32 bit version. It will all work in the end
