    Tri Booting help

i installed snow universal mac osx "SOLVED"

    Then Windows 7.

Then i preceded to install ubuntu thinking it would it would take over the bootloader (grub) so i could change between the Os's(mac/ubuntu/windows7)

    But that wasn't the case.

    Now only windows 7 boots.

Is there is something specfic when i install ubuntu that will re write the bootable loader so i can change between operating systems?

This is the first time i have ever tried to install mac alongside windows 7 and ubuntu.

    EDIT:
"I just booted up my live usb of ubuntu and ran "Boot Repair""

    EDIT 2: DELL Studio 1737

    Hi there,
First of all what type of computer do you have? It's not unheard of to tri boot a hackintosh, if you are using a mac than how have you installed windows 7? Using bootcamp or did you manually partition and install? On a mac you need a different boot loader to grub called rEFIt.

If your pc is fairly high spec it might be an idea to install ubuntu inside windows 7, this means you can install windows via bootcamp and than ubuntu inside windows by using the installation cd. This will then use grub when you select you select windows at startup between (windows and ubuntu)

Hope it helps, feel free to ask more :)

The cleanest method to multi-boot Win7 with Linux distros is on separate HD's booted via the BIOS boot order or one-time BIOS Boot Menu key. This is because GRUB can corrupt Win7 boot beyond repair.

If you must have them on the same HD look at this method which is safest: Dual boot Ubuntu-Win7
