    Product Key Question

My hard drive got broken last week. Going to send it to Seagate sometime this week. I wasn't able to make any backup so I lost all of my files. I just want to know if I can still use the product key of my Windows 7 Home Premium after I get my hard drive back? My dad bought this PC in Greece from Plaisio and I think the OS was pre-installed. There's a sticker of it in my CPU with the product key in it.

Yes, you can use the product key on the side to reinstall Windows 7.

Check out this tutorial, which explains how to clean install Windows 7 using your COA product key.

Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

You need to make sure the ISO you download is the same version as that on your computer, which in your case is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Yes you can. You have brought the licence to use the Product Key on one Computer.

If you no longer have Restoration Partition or a Windows 7 Installation DVD then you can download a legal ISO image of Windows 7 from Official Windows 7 SP1 ISO from Digital River « My Digital Life, burn on a DVD and install Windows 7.

If your legit Product Key does not activate on the Net you simply phone Microsoft and they shall readily oblige in activating your OS.

Hopefully I have covered all the points.

PS: One point was left out. Please make sure that you download, if necessary, the ISO image for Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, the OS that you are using as per your specs.

As the round of thanks to everybody is now done with, the thread seems to be solved. If yes then kindly mark it so.

I don't think the version installed before was Greek. I just downloaded an official ISO image of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit before.

Then it should work again with the Product Key on COA sticker.
