Tell us the make and model of computer so we can give you the steps to run Factory Recovery.
You should make the Disks as a backup, however. Is this what you were trying to do when it prompts you to insert a disk?

What is the size of the recovery partition?
Recovery manager is maybe a program to create recovery discs. If so, then that's why it wants a disc.
Whenever you create a new thread, it helps us to help you by giving us as much information as you can, such as:
If you haven't created a set of recovery discs yet, you should do before you do anything else. Your computer manual or computer manufacturer's support site will have infirmation on how to do it.
- Your full computer specifications.
- The manufacturer.
- Whether you have created any system recovery discs.
- Why you want to carry out a factory restore.
- Events leading up to the problem.
- Which version of Windows 7 you are using.
Please follow seavixen32's advise to the letter and quickly upload a screen-shot of your hard disk(s).
It is very easy to install from the recovery partition. If we know the make of your PC, we might be able to tell you how. The procedure is different for every make - unfortunately.
