windows 7 profesional upgrade install from cd.

    hi there,
i recently purchased windows 7 profesional and are installing with the upgrade media howerver before i install windows 7 i was wondering if it would be possiable for me to fully format my harddrive. i know there is quick format but i prefer to do full format.

is there an option for this when you start the windows 7 installation disk?

if it helps i currently dont have any operating system on as a virus wiped the old one.

    thanks for all your help,
    james

Follow the tutorial : SSD / HDD : Optimize for Windows Reinstallation .

It will format the entire hard disk.

But if you follow the method Clean Install Windows 7, in step 8, if you delete all the partitions and the create the partitions as fresh, the result will be the same.

During the installation procedure you will have the opportunity to delete any partition(s) on the hard drive and create a new one for your new Windows installation.

You can either give the new partition a quick format or let Windows do it for you.
