Upgrade gave me black screen w/ mouse pointer only!

Upgraded to Windows7 Bit32 from Vista on HP desktop machine. The only thing I get is a black screen after the startup and a mouse pointer, but nothing else.

Needed to Graphic Display updates

Thanks for the the advice. Luckily though Microsoft Tech Support was able to sort it out for me. Ended up the Windows 7 Upgrade hadn't been completed...and I couldn't tell because the HP Desktop Graphic Display didn't support Windows 7.

The tech support had me press F8 at startup and enable low-resolution option to see the screen options to finish the Windows 7 upgrade. After that she went in and found the NVidia Graphic updates for Windows 7 and reset the monitor resolution. After problems!

Wish I'd known about F8...would have saved me the hassle.
