Thanks for the the advice. Luckily though Microsoft Tech Support was able to sort it out for me. Ended up the Windows 7 Upgrade hadn't been completed...and I couldn't tell because the HP Desktop Graphic Display didn't support Windows 7.
The tech support had me press F8 at startup and enable low-resolution option to see the screen options to finish the Windows 7 upgrade. After that she went in and found the NVidia Graphic updates for Windows 7 and reset the monitor resolution. After that...no problems!
Wish I'd known about F8...would have saved me the hassle.
