Making Recovery (D) active,Bootmgr Missing !

Try Marking the System Reserved or Win7 partition Partition Active giving preference to the System Reserved partition which is normally the Active boot partition on HP preinstalls.

If Win7 doesn't start by moving the Active flag back to where it was, then Then run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times.

You can have a picture of what you're doing using free Partition Wizard bootable CD which can also rebuild your MBR if moving the Active flag back doesn't suffice, then run the 3 Startup repairs if Rebuild doesn't suffice. Follow these steps, posting back a camera snap if possible:

You can download and burn to DVD or write to flash stick the latest installer for your licensed version to use for Repairs or reinstallation from Steps 1 + 2 here: Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

That is a complete overkill. Get a hold of any installation disc and find Command Prompt in the repair section. Then run these commands:


Diskpart
LIST DISK
SELECT DISK n (where n is the number of the HDD in question)
LIST PARTITION
SELECT PARTITION n (where n is the number of the Recovery Partition)
INACTIVE
　
Then the whole thing again for the activation:
　
LIST PARTITION
SELECT PARTITION n (where n is the number of the C Partition)
ACTIVE
Exit (to exit Diskpart)

I was trying to make the right partition active using ur advice with Method 3 as stated at the link u provided since i couldnt use Method 1(requires window) & Method 2(requires Command Prompt),which i couldnt for both.
Method 3 is;
Mark as Active in Partition Wizard
1. Download a copy of the Partition Wizard Bootable CD.
2. Boot it up, right-click on the partition, and select Modify>Set Active.

But my HP Mini doesnt hv a dvd rom/writer drive.
So,should i download a copy of Partition Wizard Pro through my desktop,then copy it into a usb flash disk?<=can i do this?I dont even know if i m doin it right,or perhaps i need to make an ISO file of Partition Wizard?)
Kindly guide what's next.

As it is a HP Mini,it doesnt come with installation/system disc or sorts.Only Recovery partition is given,which is why i hv probs now after marking my Recovery Partition as active(considering that the Recovery partition is empty/doesnt hv any operating system in it).This is why i'll need to try the solution by greg which requires none installation disc.

ps:i m a total 'noob' in these,so guys,plz be patient with me.

Hello all,
I managed to get my netbook to boot into windows as usual.The methods used are methods mentioned by Greg,whs & vimmi actually.For advance user,plz head straight to methods suggested by Greg,whs & vimmi.Earlier,I have problems trying to understand as I m a 'noob' in such,tried several times & finally got it done. So,these are the steps i did.I hope this could help a lil' as references for those who have similar minimal knowledge 'bout computer setups/system like I am.

-Make a copy of bootable Windows 7 installer ISO DVD (borrowed from fren,any version) to a 8gb USB drive.
( I had to use the installer disc method bcuz after i installed the Partiton Wizard on my desktop,my desktop encountered problems as well i.e; kept restarting,unable to access desktop icons eventho' everythg else still works etc..I had to uninstall the whole program & do system restore in order to get my desktop working again. )

-Then after plugging usb into port,turn on power & go into Bios(F10),move right to System Configuration > Boot Options > Boot Order > Move USB Diskette on Key/USB Hard Disk to the top using F5/F6 > F10 to Save & Exit .
(This step is only needed if u r booting from a USB drive,NOT A DVD.This step is to change the boot order, by selecting USB as the 1st.)

-Once seeing the Wins 7 Installer blue screen,press Shift-F10 to go into command prompt & to change the current active partition with these steps using Method 2 in this link ( Screen Ref: Partition - Mark as Active ).Choose ur working disk & partition.Once done,exit & reboot.

-Press F10 into Bios again to change back the boot order to Notebook drive as the top,save then restart again.（Ref above-mentioned step to change boot order)

-After restarting,I was still unable to boot into windows(i've forgotten the error message,sth 'bout change of hardware/software or sth). Plz note that at this point,I alrdy mark the right partition active.So,I reboot,re-enter Bios again,change boot order to USB again as I need to use the Startup Repair option in the Wins 7 Iinstaller. Use Option 2 in this link till u get the Startup Repair Option.(Ref:System Recovery Options )

-Once u r see the Startup Repair option,follow these steps => (Ref : Startup Repair )
This step will restart ur netbook again & for me,after this step,my netbook successfully boot into windows.

Remarks:
For my case,after plugging in the created bootable Wins 7 USB disk into my netbook, same "Bootmgr Missing" error shown.I then realised i had missed the step where i hv to change the boot order to USB as 1st priority.The other mistake i made was to head straight to Startup Repair booting from USB drive without the Mark-Partition-Active step.This step may only be essential for my case as I had mentioned in my 1st post,I encountered boot problems only after I mark the wrong partition active.
I even tried heading straight to System Restore under System Recovery Options but still fail to boot into windows stating that I do not hv a restore point which i have when my netbook was still working.
