HP Recovery Manager says that my recovery partition has been removed

    .... but I didn't touch it.
My d:\ is not empty - it is almost 80% full but when i click on it there are no files. Tried - to the extent of my knowledge - to see if the files are hidden but didn't reach anywhere. Tried a restore point but that didnt work either. Please help

    Recovery Manager has hiccups sometimes...
Try re-booting and entering at boot.

If that fails you can order the Recovery Media from HP for a reasonable price.

    Mazen, welcome to the forum
When you purchased your computer and at the first -TURN ON- didn't you make recovery cd's?
If not, you have to follow patio advices.

    Thanks guys,

Excuse my ignorance - but by boot, do you mean pressing F8,

Backup your files, and if desired a Win7 backup image.

Try runnning Recovery from boot using this method: HP Recover Windows 7 Operating System Using HP Recovery - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

If it fails try making your Recovery Disks if you haven't already.

If both fail then your options are to order Recovery Disks from HP which will reinstall the Recovery partition as well as everything else, or get the superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 without the crippling HP bloatware and useless HP utilities which have better versions built into Win7.
