Still need help partitioning during clean install of Windows 7 64-bit
I want to do a clean install with my Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit disc. Here's what I wanting to do.
I want a partition that I can install the just operating system on. It is important to me that this be a "recovery" partition...something I can use for a complete reinstall should I ever lose my Windows disc. In other words, I just want the files from the CD in this partition. I'm not worried about settings or data, etc. I have backups covered. Should my system ever get really messed up, I want the ability to access that partition and do a completely new install, adjusting settings later on if I want to. So, I want this partition to be a way of restoring Windows 7 my operating system back to factory defaults.
Then, if I need that 100MB partition, how do I create it?
And then, the rest of my disc would be for programs, files, etc Would I have to create an actual partition for this or just leave everything leftover as unallocated.
I could really use some specific help. I've been reading a lot of posts and tutorials and I'm still not getting it.
Thanks in advance!
