Cannot create factory state disk on asus laptop.

My laptop came with win 7 x64 already loaded, but had a huge(334G)D: partition on it. That seems to be what is preventing me from making the disk set. At least that is what the error message says.
DO I need to just scroll the forums, and delete and then find that 334 space?
I will keep on reading for the clean win 7 install threads, but any comments pro or con welcome.

Pretty much Layback Bear. Every time I restart, the Asus recovery reminder comes up. The way I bought the Laptop, Win 7 was preinstalled, and I just wanted a cd set to use if I had to. But every time, I try I get the error message it cannot do it. I tried talking to a tech @ tigerD, but no help there.I guess I will just try to shrink that huge D partition.
Thank you for the links, BTW.
Still new on working around inside , got pretty good with XP pro, but on the bottom end of the curve here with 7

Google the verbatim error text and identifying number to see how others have resolved it.

Did you resize or in any other way affect the Recovery partition?

Your support should not come from Tiger but Asus Tech Support if it is within the year free hardware warranty and tech support.

Gregrocker, no I did not resize or in any other way affect the Recovery partition. Been 1 1/2 years since purchase.Bummer. But I think I can figure it out now that I found this great forum resource, as well as the Great responses. Thanks again.!
When I try to burn the dvd's, it will not do so due to the d: partition.
I guess I will end up shrinking it , or removing it.
But I also saw where there is a hidden recovery partition, that I can probably copy. That should be enough to give me peace of mind.

How do you know it's the D partition causing your Disks not to generate? If there's an error message specifying this then others have likely googled it to deal with the issue as well.

It's unlikely it would ship with such a condition so it might be corruption of your Recovery partition that's causing this. You can backup your files and a Windows 7 backup image then try running it to see if it will Recover to factory condition without the issue.
