some programs leave open window on boot

When I bootup, two programs leave open windows on the PC desktop: iTeleport and Splashtop. They are both working fine, but it is a hassle closing the open windows everytime I startup. They are both VNC/remote-access servers so I can use my iPhone to get to the PC.

Calls to their support indicate that this is the expected behavior - can I somehow change that and make the windows close or am I stuck with it?

    Hi willpwilliams ,
I am Sampad from Dell Social Media and Communities team.
Regarding the issue you have mentioned. It seems that those 2 programs are set to start when your windows boots.
There is one step that we can try to fix this.

    1)Click on Start Button
    2)Click on Start Search
3)Type 'MSCONFIG' in the start search (without the inverted commas) and hit 'ENTER'
System Configuration Utility Windows should open up.
4)Click on the startup TAB and remove the check marks beside those 2 programs.
This should prevent those 2 programs from starting up automatically.

Let me know if it worked or not.

Hey Dellsam - Manual start is not the thing I need. I want the program to start up on boot, but I do not want it to leave an open window on the desktop.

    Start Minimized

There should be commands that you can add to the start string to start them minimized. Such as: Startmeup.exe /blahblah

    Hi willpwilliams ,

As i understand , you would like a program to start up and get minimized simultaneouly when you PC boots up. However Windows 7 does not have any default program to perform that particular function of minimizing a start up item to the system tray.
There are certain 3rd party software that will perform the said function, which are easily available on the internet. We recommend you do some research work on the compatibility of such programs with windows 7 64 bit first before you install it.
