Windows 7: Windows7-64bit Ultimate OEM method to instal

Hi,
I have purchased the MS installation disc referred to and at present have XP 32-bit Professional installed on HP workstation xw6200 which has an Intel Zeon 3.6GHz (x2) installed which is 64-bit ready.
I have downloaded Dban to erase all info installed on the operating disc, having backed up all my programmes and other data.
The question therefore is, Must Dban disc be installed with the BIOS set for 'load from CD/DVD what indication will I have that the erasure is complete and is the installation of the Ultimate 64-bit Windows 7 straightforward thereafter as shown for upgrade installation of Windows 7 Ultimate

I think DBAN is overkill for wiping a disk, but if you are set on it, here is a tutorial that will help:

A better option is the Windows CLEAN ALL command:
Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command

For installing Windows 7, use this tutorial:
Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version

The efficacy of wiping the HD is to either overwrite data with zeros (Diskpart Clean All) which is needed only to make it irretrievable by most methods, or the Quick Erase Diskpart Clean Command which overwrites any code in the boot sector which might be interfering to block install.

In most cases you only need to boot the installer and delete all partitions, or at least the target install partition, create New and format to install. Or you can just delete all and click Next and installer will create and format your install partition for you.

The fact is that data doesn't care whether it is overwriting ones or zeroes and it will always be one or the other even if you wipe it with the most thorough wipe - which is only needed if you have data that you don't want recoverable by any means.

I'm back again. I have repeatedly tried to gain access to Bios setup and have been totally unsuccessful.
As you know I have a HP workstation xw6200 with a 08B8h motherboard. I have triedrepeatedly pressing F10 and then F1 keys to no effect. I do get a message that a key may be stuck on my keyboard before the computer then resumes loading XP.I have also tried the Print screen num lock scroll lock keys. I can successfully access F9 to change order of boot but this is of little use in my circumstance, as I wish to do a clean instal and also enable USB legacy mode for a Logitech keyboard. Have you any suggestions other than 'give up' please

The banner m,essage timeout at 4sec is too dam fast, can I change that without compomising anything, also I am still not in the BIOS setup utility.

Try ESC or F9 to trigger the DVD drive to boot the installation DVD.

Then follow these steps to Clean Install Windows 7 deleting all partitions if you don't want to retain Recovery or the HP Tools diagnostics. I would make your Recovery disks and run HP Diagnostics from boot menu first, though.
