Windows 7: how to clean format C:

how to clean format C:

hmm..

my OS is XP..and i want to clean reinstall it, i also had the XP cd but not the recovery CD ,

how can i do it,



i boot it already but nothings change after i done it,my files doesnt delete T_T

i also try the dban through usb but when i boot it, it says "cnnot find img file". i install (dban 2.2.6) in my flash drive,correct me if im wrong ^^

and lastly the CMD way but it fails me agains "it cant process because im using the C:" T_T

need help please

Describe exactly what happens when you boot the XP CD. Does it show the partitions existing now? Can you delete each and create a new on for install, then full format it NTFS? Try that now and tell us what happens.

haha i got it, i now clean reinstall my OS thx mate ^^

im wrong doing the repair i press the "R" instead of "ESC" grr.. my bad,

btw how do i know if im using HDD or SSD?? im using laptop so how can i figure it out..is there a posibble command to show whats the hard drive im using.

Download this Download Speccy 1.16.317 - Download - FileHippo.com and see if it tells you. It might, it might not, I haven't used it yet.

Or-
msinfo32, and look under components/storage/disks and see if it's there.

Open Computer from the start button and look at drive C:\, check the size to determine if that is your SSD. The Windows partition will be on C:\.
