Only if it fails the testing. So focus on getting the two tests done right. We will help you. I've asked for more help in this thread.

    Seatools is excellent.

Are you under warranty? If so I would tap tech support which should know more on this than we do thusfar.

Back in the morning. I've put in a call for reinforcements.

First, run the tests as Gregrocker has asked. Let us know what you find.

But looking ahead, do you have access to another working PC that you can put this problem hard drive into as a secondary drive? It would be helpful to get a screenshot of a Disk Management window to see what the drive setup looks like.

Loud Sound? Where did it come from? The motherboard, the hard drive, the speakers?

I haven't run Seatools in a while. Is there an option to repair the disk? If so, use it.

If not, then you could run CHKDSK /R from a Command Prompt run from the Windows 7 Installation Disk.
Just choose "Repair My Computer" instead of "Install Now" when the DVD first boots up and choose Command Prompt.

Run Disk Check from installer Command Line accessing DISKPART At PC Startup.

Then run Seatools again to see if it fails again. If so then replace the HD.

I gotta say the outlook's not looking to good. One thing I do before chucking a drive is connect it to another "known good" machine to see if the results are the same. I have to say though I don't recall ever finding out anything different.

holy crap i might have to replace the HDD???????? @#!@# ok im dead my parents are gonna kill me lol
Why would they kill you for that? It's not like you caused it to die, heck you haven't even physically touched it!

Or did you convince your parents that buying a copy of XP would fix it, and it didn't.

I would verify about the warranty though. I realize the length of time may vary by country, but it's worth checking.

EDIT: I see you've posted with more info while I was composing this one...
