Drivers needed are .exe but there's no OS yet.

windows 7 install stops and requests drivers.
Doesn't say for what, so IDK what to look for.
Only OEM drivers found are all executable install programs and therefore won't open and install any of them. (I can't seem to find any that consist of just a. dll)
Please help. I've tried everything except for that one that works.
    Thanks in advance,

I can't get XP to load either as it also stops during install.
In this case, at (approx. 29 mins left) it either freezes or comes up with a fatal error.
I've formatted, partitioned, using both the recovery console as well as the install programs, tried different install disks, etc.

    Hi policetac -

Is this an error initially during Win7 install prompting for DVD drivers? That is almost always an installer fault due to bad ISO, burn to DVD or write to flash stick. In that case download the latest official installer for your licensed version and write to stick or burn to DVD using Steps 1 and 2 in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which steps are the same for retail.

If that isn't the issue or it fails again with new installer, then wipe the HD using Diskpart Clean Command .

You'll likely only need the wireless or ethernet driver downloaded and unzipped on another computer to a CD or stick to install and get online if Win7 doesn't provide a network driver to do so. Then check optional Updates for newer or additonal drivers since Win7 is the authority on its own drivers. After all updates are done any drivers missing in Device Manager can be found on the Support Downloads webpage for your model PC or device.
