help needed installing cleaning windows 7 using the sticker key

    Hi,
I am new to this forum so hopefully everyone will be nice

My laptop is a Lenovo Z570 which is great and all that however its full of bloatware and other rubbish that the manufacturer has installed for me, even when I do a complete restore its very slow and sluggish bearing in mind how powerful it is (quad core i7, 8GB DDR3 ram etc) so I want to know if its possible to wipe the hard drive and install a clean version of windows 7 home premium 64 downloaded from Microsoft trials and activate etc using the numbers off my COA sticker?

is this possible and I presume it will be alot quicker that this tweaked setup from Lenovo?

    Many Thanks all

    Scott

Hello Scott and welcome to Seven Forums.

I think this tutorial by one of our Forum experts is just what you need.

Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

If all you want to do is clean up bloatware, this tutorial may suffice.

The COA on the computer will be edition specific. If the machine originally came with Home Premium (for example) then that's what will have to be reinstalled in order to use that COA. Sometimes people have reported that even using the same edition causes activation issues but a phone call to Microsoft gets that resolved.

    Why did you download Ultimate?

Download your licensed version as it says in the tutorial. If you follow the steps more closely you'll have a perfect Clean reinstall. Carelessness will cost you.

Be sure to ask back any questions to get it done right.
