after doing some googling, it appears that your laptop has an intel 855gm graphics chip.

neither dell nor intel seem to have vista nor 7 drivers, only for xp.

have you tried these xp drivers, or have you not installed 7 yet because of this issue?

Back in the Vista days, installation detects both graphics (intel 852/855) and my wireless adapter (intel 2200bg).

Now, when I first installed the RC, neither my graphics / wireless gets detected.
Trying to install the XP intel graphics driver (official xp driver from Dell website, since vista ones aren't available), but it screwed up completely and I can't boot up properly.

I didn't diagnose the problem and make note of everything. I have just done a fresh install of the RTM. Same thing. Intel seems to have made a graphics accelarator driver for Win 7 RC. I am going to give it a shot.

After installing Win7 RTM, initially only LAN is installed.

Running windows update I managed to install AUDIO and WIRELESS drivers.

Video is still a problem, the Intel Graphics Accelerator Driver for Win7 RC did not work.

    See attached screenshot.

I would try to run Win7 in Sun Virtual Box. It may mimic acceptable graphics.

basiclaly install windows 7 from the dvd... 32 bit as 700m is not 64 bit.

What you'll find is that audio and wireless drivers are missing (the LAN works fine though...)

to fix that, what you will need is to plug in your LAN cable and perform a windows update.

everything should now be working except the video driver (which will still show as standard vga)

i tried the windows 7 rc drivers from INTEL but it didn't work... i'll keep pinging the intel website to see if they release a new set of drivers...

    hope this helps.
