How do I split os data between drives

I recently built a new computer that has an ssd intended for the os, the problem is it isnt big eneugh for all the program files, and user data. I want to move that part of the operating system over to the hard drive but have no idea how to go about it.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

I just built a new system with an SSD drive (128GB). I have the OS and select programs on the SSD and everything else on a 1 TB conventional hard drive

There are some tutorials on this thread (that I had asked a similar question). It may be of some use to you.

I do the same thing as firebird. My 128 Gb SSD contains the OS and programs, while all the data is stored on a HDD. Splitting the system files between two drives would make creating things like system images much more complicated and I prefer to keep things as simple as possible.

Then install your most-used Programs to SSD and uninstall and reinstall or install the lesser used ones as well as move your User folders to the storage HD.

The easiest way to move User folders is sort everything into them for best organization, then copy each User folder to storage HD, rightclick it to link to the related library - you'll need to add a Downloads library. If some files wind up in the C User folder just drag them to D in the library window.
