    Help with installing windows

Hi I'm trying to install windows 98 I have the cd rom but it is asking for a floppy drive which I don't have anyway to install without having the floppy or will I have to install windows2000

Also one more thing pluging in a USB keeps on power off pc instantly ? Is it a short in the pins I think I see only three pins in the USB slot should there be four

    It's a pentium three dell

I'm tried to install windows eight preview but it will not fit on a cd as its only 700mb how do I get windows seven on there?

You need a dvd, don`t waste your time trying to install W7 or 8 on that pc.
Install XP , it fits on a cd.

Why Not ? Because it only has a pentium 3.
The size of XP ? Under 700 MBs.
About the USB ? Your probably right.
Why is it slow ? Because it so old.

But it should run a fresh install of XP ok.

I have an old pentium 3 with XP installed, I use it as a music server. I can access it from my other pcs. It does not have to be fast.
