    Installing windows xp

Hi i am currentley running windows 7, i created a new parition, ntsf format and when i put my xp disk in it loads up the starting files form the disk (setup) and at the end i just get the blue screen error.

How can i get around this, i tried it threee times and every time it has happened.

It is not the disk i have used it on my computer and it worked fine.

What error do you get in the BSOD?
Are you trying to boot from the XP disk or running setup from winthin Windows 7?

Try extracting the contents from the xp iso to a different partition and run the setup file from there...

How old is your XP install disk compared to the computer? MS says this error can be related to drivers not being updated, you will need to update them to eb able to install. Please check Advanced troubleshooting for "Stop 0x0000007B" errors in Windows XP
Also, can your XP disk be corrupted?

Well i got my laptop less than a month ago and want to put windows xp pro on there so my drivers are pretty much up to date.

Also i dont think my disk could be corrupted becuase i only used it less than two months back on my computer and i dont really see hwo it can be corrupted.

Not sure what i could do now, is there anyway of installing it through windows 7 and just selecting the parition i want to install it to from there?
