"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing" during install

Tried everything and by everything, i do mean everything. spent close to a week frying my brains on this problem. after getting to the select language and input screen, it loads and then goes to a screen saying that the required CD/DVD driver is missing. tried different OS, windows 7 home, home premium, ultimate and proffesional. it all ends up with missing drivers. i mount/burn them onto a 4gb scandisk cruzer blade. i actually managed to install it the same exact way, via that thumb drive. and by some freak problem, had to format everything. even the os. so all i hav now is an empty hard drive, bios setting and my bootable usb drive.i set the bios to AHCI and vice versa to IDE. i dont have RAID though. i tried installing a AHCI controller from the driver disk that came with my notebook but to no succes. tried searching for my hard drive driver even though my bios recognizes it. im really at my wits end here. my notebook is an Asus Pro36sd or U36sd.. hard disk is a fujitsu mhz2250bj g2.. please help guys..

That message is usually an indication of a corrupt installer.

Try downloading a clean, official ISO:

Did you burn the DVD using the tool provided in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 ? If so try burning another with ImgBurn at 4x speed.

If that fails try writing to flash stick with tool provided in tutorial in blue link.

Reset CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

Set SATA controller to AHCI to try install, then IDE if it fails.

Test your HD and RAM as given in Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7.

Remove all but 2gb RAM to try install.

If HD tests oK with diagnostics and Disk Check then create a Primary NTFS partition marked Active as given in Step 2.2 here: SSD - HDD Optimize for Windows Reinstallation
