If you want to use XP only, and not windows 7 (not a wise decision IMO), you may set the HDD Controller to IDE, which is set to be AHCI atm; and try reinstall XP.

That is why it is not a wise decision .

I dont want Win7 because my friend has lower performance laptop and he has more Frames per second in Call of Duty 2, and yes he is on Windows XP.

if so reinstall using these same steps to get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.
