Desperately need help! Removed Linux and now can't boot!

I had a laptop with one hdd setup to dual boot win 7 and Linux Mint. Tonight I went into windows disk management, deleted both the Linux main partition and the swap. I then extended my windows partition to use the full drive.

I then decided to completely restore my laptop with recovery discs I created. But these are not windows 7 recovery disks but the Acer ones I created using the Acer tool that came with the laptop.

After I restored, I rebooted and then it went to the grub rescue prompt. I searched for the last hour and found that the solutions given need the win recovery disk and boot into command prompt. However, my Acer disks does not allow me to do anything else but just install windows on the primary partition. I cannot delete or create partitions and fix my mbr.

What can I do now? I have windows 7 installed but cannot get to it.

Really appreciate any help I can get!

    Hello,

Start the system from the Windows 7 Installation CD. Go into BIOS, make your CD/DVD drive start first. Save and Restart. Then it should automatically load from the W7 disk and you can do a repair from there.

    Hi,

I don't have the installation disk. My laptop only came with recovery partition, and I created a set of Acer recover disks that only allow me to restore factory settings. No formatting tools or command prompts.

Have you tried getting to safe mode?

Grub is likely still interfering with things that's the most common cause of problems after removing linux.

You may want to get your hands on a windows 7 disk to help out.
Don't actually use it to install but it's nice to have around for running repairs and stuff.

Wipe the HD with Diskpart Clean Command before running the Recovery Disks again. You'll need a Win7 Repair CD, Installation DVD, or use free Partition Wizard bootable CD or free DBAN CD.

Most tech enthusiasts will not run the factory preinstall which is larded with crapware and useless duplicate utilities which interfere with Win7's better versions. Instead I would Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 - everything you need is in the link.

If you must run Recovery, then at the least Clean Up Factory Bloatware
