Windows 7: Installing Windows 7 on ssd

I have Dell Inspiron 1520, which was shipped with Windows Vista 32Bit. Last year I bought Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade and upgrade it to Windows 7 64bit.
In next few days I will be switching to ssd drive.
Because Windows 7 Upgrade is without SP1 I did download Windows 7 Home Premium with SP1 from Digital River and put on usb stick.
My plan is: clean install using this usb stick and then put Windows product key from my windows upgrade box. Is this will work? If yes then great will save me a lot of time if not what is the best and quicker way to do this?

Yes, you should have no problems installing it with the DR copy, and activating with your product key number.

I did read all the informations from this link (by the way good stuff) , just wasn't sure about installing windows with sp1 and activating with product key pre-sp1.
Thx for now. Now just have to wait for my new ssd drive to arrive to see how this will work.

So I did clean install (without putting product key) on empty ssd. After install was complete I tried activate but get error that my key is for upgrade only or something like that. So I did second install and this time activation was successful.
