New System Build Windows rebooting after post

CPU: Intel G540
Mobo: Gigabyte H61M-DS2H
Ram: Crucial DDR3 1333 2GB
OS: Windows 7 HP x64

I tried installing Windows XP and Vista and they went on fine. When I try 7 it gets to picking a username and password. Then it says logging off. The system reboots and immediately after post it goes into a post loop. I cannot hit F8 to get into safe mode options. I cannot figure it out.

Maybe a setting in the bios?

Where did you get Win7? Did you burn the DVD yourself? How are you installing it?

If this is a triple boot we'd better see a Disk Mgmt screenshot.

This is a burn dvd that I have used before to do fresh installs before with no problems. This is not a triple boot. It must have something to do with the Mobo/Mobo settings because I have never seen anything like this before. I used the default settings.

I cannot run the system specs exe cuz I never get into a functioning Windows. But the same identical parts on an MSI board worked fine using the same Windows DVD to install. The weird part is windows completes the install, logs off, and does the reboot but the crash occurs immediately after post. There is no windows repair, or advanced option... it just goes into a loop showing the bios ameritrend whatever it is logo then black screen then that logo again.

Never seen this before.

This happened with two brand new drives. One Seagate and one WD. I did do a partition delete in the Windows 7 install.

I also put bios at default. I cannot wrap my head around why would windows practically fully install (pick a username, password, and show me the desktop before doing the usual logging off automatically) and just crash out at the first boot?

I even tried installing windows in a high end i5 desktop with a gigabyte board and then swapping it straight in to see what would happen. Same thing. No even a Windows repair screen. I am wondering if it is something in the bios I need to disable. Next thing I was going to try is to install a GFX card.

I did not say delete partitions but to wipe the HD which is completely different. Most importantly it overwrites the boot sector of code which can conflict and often blocks install, even boot.

My apologies. I will try it first thing tomorrow. I have another machine that I can install the program on and run on the drive. I am skeptical though since I used a brand new drive, but I will try whatever anyone suggests right about now.

That is a strange place for it to behave so. Are you inputting your License key during the install, and have you tried skipping that? Maybe even try an install when not connected to the net.
