Problems restoring Windows 7 on Sony VAIO VPCEE2S1E

I have a Sony VAIO VPCEE2S1E which I am trying to fix with no results.

I think the problem resulted from dropping it a couple of months ago, it has slowly deteriorated and slowed to the point that I just get a message when I boot it as follows:

“S.M.A.R.T. Hard Drive detects error. Please consider to back up the hardrive.”

When I proceed I get a message to tell me there is no operating system to load.

I read some forums and assumed the hardrive had gone. I purchased a new hardrive, fitted it and I get the same message coming up.

When I try and re-install Windows 7 with a CD the computer looks as though it is starting Windows and then starts loading Samsung Recovery Solution 4. This programme does not get the opportunity to load as I get the following message:

“This computer does not support Samsung Recovery Solution 4.”

I am not quite sure where to go from here and I keep going round in circles. Any guidance would be most appreciated.

Hello philiprussell87, welcome to Seven Forums!

Is the Windows DVD one that came with the PC or is it actually a Windows 7 installation DVD you purchased separately, if the latter them make sure you have the PC set to boot the Windows 7 DVD first and have a look at this tutorial linked below for some ideas and be sure to post back with any questions.
