So you have a 50gb USB flash stick with 5gb of content, 1gb of which is drivers not needed? Where did you put the drivers, into one of the Installer folders? This can foul the installer.

Exactly correct. In the screenshot that I posted it is Disk 2. I put the drivers into a separate folder called Asus, not with the installer folder/files.

Then the failures likely had to do with the onboard SSD.

Do you want to use it for data, as you should test now if formatting it Logical affects boot times or performance.

You are able to set the other SSD as first HD to boot in BIOS setup, correct?

You can used the installed version of PW: Partition Wizard Create Partition Video Help

I'm using my desktop to respond to this thread and looking up information, etc. I'm currently installing drivers to the ultrabook - creating system restore points each step of the way.

I think you're right. To be honest - I wouldn't mind never having the computer recognize the onboard SSD ever again if it means avoiding this headache. If I could I would permanently delete it and never look back, if it meant that future installations wouldn't give me this kind of headache.

Why do you have a Disk 0 and a Disk 2 in that pic of Disk Management ? Also, your install drive C: (ssd) should be Disk 0 with nothing else showing. Just the system reserved partition and C: both on Disk 0

I think it's onboard SSD so he can't move Disk0.

It's valuable real estate so I would use it as a data drive.

So format it Logical now with Partition Wizard home edition and reboot to see that it doesn't interfere and you'll have attic storage. Partition Wizard Create Partition - Video Help

Never be afraid of your hardware or software, especially if it's pricey. We will help you master it.

I appreciate that! I will do the Partition Wizard tomorrow when I get back from work. I'm so tired, I'm heading to bed, but I appreciate your help today. I'll update you tomorrow after I use the partition wizard. Thanks again!
