Cd/DVD not usable after new Windows 7 installation

Just did a Windows 7 (64 bit) installation on an new HDD on a HP Pavillion All in One MS 220. 2 Issues

    (1) I cannot see the CD/DVD as a available drive under the Computer but shows up when I click on Computer. I am not able to run anything on it.

    (2) Not able to see any programs installed on the computer.

First thing, Win 7, usually it will install most of what you need, however, there can be some devices that will require HP drivers to work or work correctly.

What status do you have for the CD/DVD drive in the Device Manager. Does it show an error code or does it show working OK?

What Programs are you looking for? If you did a new install, there won't be anything other than the built in Windows programs.

Start over and follow the steps in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 to make sure the best practices for Win7 reinstall are used.

Can you boot the Win7 installer? How about if you unplug the HDD?

Try flash stick install if not. If it fails unplug the DVD drive.
