Thank you so much but I am trying to install Ubuntu on the stick not in my pc.
I USED UNETBOOTIN WITH UBUNTU 12.04 LTS 32 BYTE AND THE INSTALLER SAID EACH OF THE five performances WERE SUCCESSFUL. I THEN REBOOTED AND SET BOOT ORDER TO USB. I GOT 4 CHOICES AND SELECTED TO TRY UBUNTU.
UNFORTUNATELY ALL THE SCREEN SHOWED WAS A LOT OF DIGITS.
FAILED AGAIN. THIS UNETBOOTIN SEEMS SO STRAiGHT FORWARD.
COUlD THE PROBLEM BE THE STICK DRIVE I FORMATTED TO FAT 32 OR MY WIN 7 X64?
I AM STUCK.
This would be handy to have if the pc would not boot.
I tried pendrivelinux.com and unetbootin but Ubuntu 12.04 LTS won't work. After I set boot to usb the program takes off for a few seconds and say to run from usb with out my touching it. Then after 5 seconds and alot of digits on the screen it freezes and I have to hard boot. Is GRUB 2 a possiblity - I never heard of it but have tried to solve this and it came up. It does begin to work but like I said it freezes. I usesd different sticks and set them to 2 of the 4 GB.
Thank you
As recomended I tried both Lili and Imgburn.
The latter told me to run at 10x's to succeed.
Again, I get a brownish page for a nanosecond then the screen becomes black with alot of data.
I have to hard boot to escape.
I really would like to use Ubuntu and am open to other ideas.
Thank you
Peter
I have used different ones but it is a good thought. I asked the Ubuntu forum and will report back for others.
Hello
The dvd-rw I created from the Ubuntu 12.04 iso file works in my wife's laptop but not in the desktop.
There is no confusing the boot order in the laptop but is it possible the boot order could be my desktop problem?
Boot order in the desktop is:
1-Hard
2-cd-dvd
3-usb-floppy
4-network
5-usb-hard
6-usb-cd/dvd
Any thoughts appreciated
Peter
