How to install w7 for a laptop while on a desktop

I have a laptop that needs to have an OS installed, however the screen does not work for it. Is it possible to install w7 onto the hdd while connected to my desktop?

Is there some kind of way to emulate the hardware in my laptop for the install?
    Cheers.

You might be able to plug in your monitor to the laptop. Look for a port on the sides.

Nah that doesn't work. I think there is an issue with either the mobo itself or just the gfx chip. As a long shot I took the hdd out and reformatted it, but didn't think about the installing of an OS onto a different system than what it needs to be on. Silly I know. It is just mainly a longshot incase the problem was software related.
