Trouble installing W7

I am trying to install Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit on a new harddrive I have bought but when it goes to install it does the copying files (first step) and instantly goes from 0 to 100% and errors on the next step (expanding files). This happens to me no matter if I have the hard drive in the laptop it was meant for or another laptop that I use. I have tried multiple different ISOs with multiple different computers and different programs to make sure it was not my install disc. I have yet to try a bought DVD of W7. Does anyone know what this could be?

The new HDD is a brand new HDD with SSD 4GB hybrid and advertised to work with no drivers and they do not supply any.

My current assumptions at this point is that it still could be my install disc is corrupt or something. Also could be incorrect hard drive formatting or worse faulty hardware. The part that disturbs me is that I can not get it to install on my own personal laptop that I use.

Can anyone suggest anything? I have been told to supply the SATA drivers for the MOBO at install but that was a nightmare. I think the reason it didn't work was because the drivers were for XP or Vista and did not have explicit compatibility for W7 but probably still would of worked.

The problem is likely the installer.

Download and burn to DVD or write to flash stick using the tool in Steps 1 and 2 of Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which steps will assure a perfect reinstall.

Not exactly a great reply since in my initial post I have stated that I have already burned several DVDs. I also tried USB but i'm pretty sure the MOBO doesn't support booting from it.

Your original post says you tried several downloads and several burns to test your install media, but you do not say it ever actually worked.

Did you try changing the SATA controller as a previous post suggests?

The one time I got the 0-100% jump like you got was when I was using a flashdrive to install and it was not set up correctly.

But using a different drive, or another system with a different drive would verify the install media is good. That would leave the hybrid drive, which I have never used, or your system causing the problem.

Could you give some specs about your system? How old is it, and is there a chance you bios may not be able to handle the hybrid? Also, disconnect any external drives you have.

It could be the ISO. The error you describe is almost always the installer. Did you want me to say it isn't the installer so you would tell me I had a good reply. Just fill in the Reply box below for what you want us to tell you.

Try downloading a new ISO to burn to DVD or write to flash. When you plug in the flash stick after formatting, look at choices for the one-time BIOS Boot Menu key at boot to see if USB, Removable or HD's are there and can be expanded to show your actual stick. Choose that.

Next try wiping the HD with Diskpart Clean Command.

Unplug all other hD's and peripherals.

MS, the digital river download source. I have downloaded the same edition that was pre-installed on the laptop.

I tried burning the ISO from different computers just to see the same error. Each time I re-downloaded the ISO from MS.

Try resetting BIOS to defaults: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

While in BIOS setup set SATA controller to AHCI to try install. If it fails try IDE mode.

Can you get to command Box by pressing Shift + F10 at first screen, or get to the installer's System Recovery Options to open a Command prompt? If so run Diskpart Clean Command.

There are now a half dozen other steps given. Please reply to each for more steps.
