    Acer eRecovery Management Help!!

Hi, my computer is not working. It won't get past the start up screen so I am trying to do the Acer eRecovery Management. I can pull it up just fine but the blue circle (thinking) has been there for awhile and won't finish loading..is that normal? any ideas?
    Thanks!

I don't think that is normal - it should load up reasonably quickly.

If it has been several minutes - something is wrong.

Did you run off the Acer recovery discs?

You can use my boot media.

It has a lot of tools in it.

Download the file called REP.7z from here: https://skydrive.live.com/#cid=B0A22...89320E3247!345

    Rt click it, Unblock,Apply, OK.

then unzip it with 7-zip. 7-Zip

Burn the REP.iso to cd as an image - do not burn it as data.

Boot it up on your sick machine.

You didn't specify what the problem is ?

When I try and start it up a black screen comes up saying windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. It gives me the option to launch startup repair or start windows normally. The startup repair brings me to a blue screen with a bird on a branch and the start windows normally brings me back to the windows error recovery screen.

    Sounds like registry corruption.

Your best bet is to replace the registry from the backup.

You need to do that from outside windows - so use my boot media.

Do you mean you couldn't download the file?

You need to get hold of another windows computer to create a boot disc.

If you can't get into your existing windows installation, there is no other way.

What are you posting from now?

You should be able to d/l it easily enough.

You need windows id to access the skydrive site.

You can just register there - they will email it to you.

Or you can set up a hotmail account - that will do as your windows id.

I don't know how you can un 7zip that on a mac - perhaps there is a mac version of 7-zip - I have no idea.

I am sure you must be able to burn an .iso on a mac
