Did you create a second partition for XP and install it as shown here? Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP
What often works best is to start Win7 again by Marking 7 Partition Active then running Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times.
Then you only need to install EasyBCD 2.1.2 to add XP on it's Add OS Entry tab. EasyBCD (free Download at bottom of page - no name or email required)
