Windows 7 Re-Install missing driver error

Hello everyone and thanks for your future help. Sorry if I'm in the wrong section.

Here's my problem: Yesterday I bought a new ASUS A55A laptop and was installing basic programs (Chrome, iTunes, Photoshop). I installed EASEUS partition manager and tried to resize the partitions. I tried because there was an error and now Windows will not boot.

    So.

I read up on the subject: tried to active the ASUS recovery using F9, doesn't work. I opted to try and reinstall Windows using both an installation DVD and USB. Easy enough, just that I get prompted to look for the CD/DVD unit's driver.

I've read various threads about it, but none of the things I've tried (different USB ports, downloading all sorts of drivers from the official ASUS page) seem to work.

    Any suggestions? Again, thank you.

In the future use free Partition Wizard boot disk which never fails, while all others except Disk Mgmt can fail with total data loss.

If it failed during resizing you may have scrambled everything on the HD. Boot into the Win7 installer or System Repair Disk, make sure Win7 or its System Reserved boot partition is marked Active, run Startup Repair a few times with reboots. Does it find an installation to repair? Mark Partition Active

If no installation is found I would get the superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 . Everything you need is in the blue link including the latest official installer for your licensed version.

Partition Wizard may still be able to help, since it has an options to rewrite the MBR and recover partitions...

I don't know if Easeus has such options, but you will, I assume, have to do it offline by booting to a CD for either one...

    Good idea, Saltgrass:

Partition Wizard Partition Recovery Wizard Video Help.

Partition Wizard Rebuild MBR Video Help.

You can also Explore C to see if the files are intact.
    Use the boot disk.

Thanks a lot for the tips, I'll be sure to use Partition Manager in the future.

In the end I just took it back to the store and got it replaced, but thanks a lot for the good advice
