    All users I've seen steering away from UEFI is because they have pirated copies of windows 7 whose crack dont work on UEFI boot partitions.

    I had not heard that, OldMX. Installation and repairs are complicated since you cannot simply boot the installation and repair disk to do repairs normally: UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) - Install Windows 7 with - Windows 7 Forums

    I see nothing in the User's Manual that indicates this is a UEFI BIOS: http://shop.lenovo.com/products/us/l...tasheet_US.pdf

    To be certain you can research the exact mobo model to find it's specs. Belarc Advisor can sometimes correctly identify the mobo model.

    Got my intel from mydl forums, after googleing a lot because a couple of guys asked me to reinstall windows on their computers because it "refused to activate"
